Student Council hosts toy and clothing drive

The Buffalo High School Student Council will be holding a Toy and Clothing Drive for local children from now until December 11, 2009. We are coordinating with all three campuses to identify families in the area who could use some extra assistance in making it through the holiday season. This is our second year to hold a toy drive, and we would like to expand it this year to include clothing items and to allow members of our generous community to help us with donations.

"We are hoping to provide a nice set of clothes and gifts for at least 20 young people in Buffalo," advisor Melonie Menefee said. "We want to be able to have a few toys, an outfit, and toiletries for each child."

Donation boxes are lo- cated at Dollar General, Family Dollar, Davis Country Store, The Horse's Mouth, Heart and Home, Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church, Bethel Baptist Church, First Baptist Church, Miracle Christian Center, and Celebration Church.

If you would like to donate a specific item that a child needs, please come to the high school library and pick out a star ornament. There are a variety of wants and needs at a variety of prices, each targeted to a specific child in our community.
