     Leon County Area Go Texan Steak Dinner and Dance will be held on November 28, 2009, at 6:00PM in the Jewett Community Center. The Leon County Area Go Texan Committee has made a commitment to the youth of Leon County. We are offering a $1000.00 scholarship to one student from each school in our county.

NORTH CREEK BAPTIST CHURCH

      The food pantry this month did a remarkable job and served over six hundred persons for the month. Fourteen families were new and most of the new ones had recently been laid off from work. This is in line with the economy as it is today. We have been asking for any addar ditional funds that anyone can spare.

The Colors of Fall
      Two people, one a reader, Michael MacGregor of Centerville and one a Buffalo Press staffer, Sherry Matney submitted the photographs that were judged best for the Colors of Fall photo contest. The next contest will be for photos of the Christmas Parade and other Christmas decorations due on December 10th. Everyone is incouraged to enter.
