Bison earn All-District Honors

The Bison football team earned a playoff spot this year, and many individuals were selected to receive honors as the 21-2A All District teams were announced.

Topping the list, freshman running back Jose Dominguez earned the superlative “Newcomer of the Year” in a unanimous vote.

First Team honors included: Jordan Canady (Quarterback), Curtis Yates (Offensive Tackle); Dylan Ansley (unanimously voted Tight End and Inside Linebacker); Aaron Bell (Wide Receiver); Rigo Andrade (Special Teams, Kicker); Jared Hawthorne (Defensive End); Aurelio Dominguez (Defensive Line); Dakota Champion (Corner); Ryan Read (Outside Linebacker); and Rigo Andrade (Safety).

Second Team honors went to Andrew Houston (Special Teams, Deep Snapper); Jared Hawthorne (Guard); Chris Sweeney (Center); Aurelio Dominguez (Tail back); Jacob Rodell (Inside Linebacker); Daniel Vazquez (Defensive Line); and Saxton Sims (Corner).

Earning Honorable Mention recognition were: Aaron Bell (Safety), Dominic Jackson (Tight End), and Clayton Smith (Guard).

Making the 2009 Academic All District Team were seniors Dakota Champion, Andrew Houston, Rigo Andrade, Aaron Bell, Jared Hawthorne, Damian Rodriguez, Eliceo Gonzalez, Casey Helfenbein, Dylan Andley, Esteban Espinoza, Saxton Sims, Ryan Read, Aurelio Dominguez, Jacob Rodell, Jordan Nix, Chris Sweeney, Curtis Yates, Creagor Elsom, and Jose Dominguez.
