You’re invited to Leon County’s biggest birthday party ever

Mark your calendars for the 5th annual Relay For Life of Leon County. The event planning committee recently met and set a date for next year’s overnight event. On April 16-17, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. many Leon County residents will walk the track at Brewer Stadium in Buffalo in an effort to raise funds for cancer research and patient services.

The 2010 event marks the 5th year of Relay For Life in Leon County and the whole event will be one big party, a birthday party. Get ready to put on your party hats and join the “Relay For Life of Leon County is fiveyears old” celebration. From the beginning, survivor lap, to the end, closing ceremony, the event will be a huge celebration.

Recently, several members of the planning committee attended an event where they learned that Leon County took third place in funds raised among all counties with populations between 15,000 and 29,999 in the East Texas Region. This award is because of the efforts of so many wonderful Leon County folks! Let’s do even better this year.

If you have been involved in Relay For Life in the past or you are new to Relay, and would like to help plan for this big birthday celebration, you can. The planning committee would love to have you join them as they work on the birthday party. Call Event Chair Morgan Raboin at (903) 390-6465 or email her at knmraboin@ gmail.com for more information on how to get involved.

Mark your calendars for April 16-17, 2010 and plan to help Relay For Life of Leon County and the American Cancer Society celebrate the biggest birthday party ever.
