Adam Haneline, owner of Haneline Ranch in Leona got the shot every hunter dreams of on opening morning, November 07, 2009. He was hunting on Two J’s Ranch near Grapeland when a 240 pound, 14 point buck came into view at 210 yards. Haneline took the magnificent ani- mal with his Browning-White Gold Medallion-300 WSM with Winchester 150 grain Silver Ballistic tip ammo.
Inside spread on the 14 point rack measured 21 7/8” and main beams measured 241/8”. Scoring information by Texas Parks and Wildlife Biologist gave the deer a gross score of 183 7/8 BC. Official score sheet will be received in December. Reflecting on the experience of the hunt, Haneline stated “I thank God for allowing me to take such a magnificent animal”. He also thanked the Two J’s Ranch owners, John and Jewel Cater, for the opportunity to hunt a ranch with such excellent facilities and hospitality.
