Straight from The Horse’s Mouth
      This week marks another anniversary for Glenn and I. Five years ago, on a north wind, we untied the dock lines and left for the adventure of a lifetime. We had the right boat, had two years of training from the right instructors, we had charts, redundant GPS's, a satellite phone, and enough food to last a month.

Buffalo Police Report
      Sgt Ferrand to IH 45 for rollover crash. While traveling northbound on IH45, officer witnessed a vehicle strike the cable barrier then skid across the highway and roll over. Officer turned around and proceeded back to assist. DPS was notified. Ambulance and fire department were also called to the scene. Driver appeared to be ok. Officer gave statement to DPS regarding what he had witnessed.

      11/4/09 Bart Dorman responded to Jewett for the report of an attempted burglary. Glenn Hightower responded to Buffalo for the report of a suspicious person. Kevin Ellis responded to Centerville for the report of criminal mischief. David Sales and Kevin Ellis responded to Centerville for the report of a 911 hang up.

Leon County Cooks: Pumpkin - more than just a pretty face
      I’m betting that most folks who grew up around here rarely, if ever, had pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving or Christmas. Most of us looked forward to sweet potato pie and were told that it tasted a lot like pumpkin. Today, pumpkin pie is as much a staple in the rural areas of Leon County as it is in the cities.
