Those who have served our country will be honored in several ways on Veterans’ Day, Wednesday, November 11. All veterans are urged to attend and give us a chance to recognize you!
Oakwood Schools are hosting breakfast for area veterans at 8:15.
Buffalo ISD has several events scheduled to honor veterans. At 9:00 a.m. All veterans residing in Buffalo are cordially invited to Buf- falo High School auditorium so that the students can express their appreciation for the sacrifices you have made in order to enjoy the gift of freedom. Special tribute will be made to the World War II veterans. Elementary students will host a reception for local veterans at 1:00 p.m. with cake and punch in the BES library. Afterward, the veterans are invited to stay for a program which will include a brief play and time for visits with students to answer questions as the students see memorabilia and hear a lesson on respecting the Flag.
Centerville ISD has planned a program from 9:30 -10:00 in the Centerville Auditorium, and refreshments will follow.
Leon Elementary students have prepared a musical tribute for veterans, who will be presented in a parade across the LHS auditorium stage.
