Substitute rider takes Carmeans’ horses to World Championship
      Markay Carmeans' tragic riding accident at last month's CPRA barrel racing finals could have been reason enough to step away from the sport. Instead, as she mends from five broken bones in her back, Carmeans has found another way to participate, sharing her prized mounts with another talented rider, Stevi Ahearn of Jewett. Champion places in top ten in three Region 10 rodeos
      BHS senior Dakota Champion wears the purple and goal uniform of a BHS football player on Friday nights, but he trades those duds in for boots 'n chaps on rodeo weekends. Champion participates in Region 10 of the Texas High School Rodeo Association, competing in calf roping, steer wrestling and team roping.

     AUSTIN – (Nov. 2, 2009) For the week ending Oct. 31, 2009, feeder cattle prices at Texas auctions were mixed, with sales early in the week $3 per hundredweight higher to $3 lower and late week sales steady to $4 higher. Fed cattle were $2 higher on reduced offerings for sale and higher beef prices.
