Community Calendar

A Program to Honor Veterans will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. in the Buffalo High School auditorium. All veterans residing in Buffalo are cordially invited to attend so that the students can express their appreciation for the sacrifices you have made in order to enjoy the gift of freedom. Special tribute will be made to the World War II veterans.

The Buffalo Senior class will be holding a steak dinner and raffle on November 11, 2009 in support of the graduating class. Anyone interested in attending the steak dinner or purchasing a raffle ticket should contact a Buffalo High School student or parent. The only requirement, if you live long distance, is that you pay for shipping and handling for the gun to your location. The raffle tickets are five dollars for one ticket or twenty dollars for five tickets. It is not mandatory that you be present at the steak dinner to win the gun. If anyone would like to view the rifle it is on display at Diamond Jack’s Gun Shop.

BHS Project Graduation Steak Dinner, Nov. 21, 2009. Only 250 tickets sold--Dinner for two with a chance to win $10,000.00. Contact any BHS senior parent or student for ticket information.

Leon County Area Go Texan Steak Dinner and Dance will be held on November 28, 2009, at 6:00PM in the Jewett Community Center. The Leon County Area Go Texan Committee has made a commitment to the youth of Leon County. We are offering a $1000.00 scholarship to one student from each school in our county. In addition to the money we are giving, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has made available a $15,000.00 scholarship to one student from our county. In order to accomplish these goals, we need your help. Following the steak dinner, catered by Cowboy Catering, we will push the tables back and scoot a boot to the musical stylings of Mike Hammock. Tickets are $100.00 and are good for two steak dinners and a chance to win $5000.00. There will also be a silent auction the night of the event. Only 150 tickets will be sold.
