Larry Wayne Burroughs

Funeral services for Larry Wayne Burroughs, age 54, will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at 2:00p.m. at Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home. Bro. James Engle will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Concord Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday with the family present from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Burroughs passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2009, at his residence near Jewett.

He was born in Houston and worked as a truck driver and mechanic for thirty years. Larry Wayne loved to hunt, fish, and grow a garden. He was a true family man. Mr. Burroughs was always very open in his Baptist Faith to everyone and loved Jesus.

He is survived by his wife of ten years, Jeannie Burroughs of Jewett; two daughters, Carrie Burroughs & Lucas Lisenby of Lake Arthur, Louisiana and Misty Schupp & husband James of Porter; three step-sons, Eddie Dean Duke, Errik Duke, and Steve Duke all of Jewett; five grandchildren, Brayden Burroughs, Blayne Lisenby, Jocelyn Schupp, Jadyn Schupp, and James (Lil’man) Schupp; one brother, Guy S. Burroughs II of Houston; three sisters, Margie Vernell Milam & husband Mike of Missouri City, Sandy Miller of Highlands, and Rhonda Sue Downies of Jewett; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Burroughs was preceded in death by his parents, Guy S. & Beatrice Burroughs; one half-brother, Bobby Schumanski; one nephew; and two great-neices.
