Ralph Billings Ralph Billings Sheriff’s Report Number 461- Big rain overnight, much lightning and thunder rumbling, more on the way, all creeks up…And if this rain continues as predicted…. That will next be spelled UP, in caps! Deputies McGowan and Harrison assist motorist with tire change, Hwy. 164. THDEMS to stomach pains. Three feet of water standing in the Teague Underpass, Tx- DOT notified.

Teague and Wortham VFD’s to Mexia assisting with fire at Dick Scott Ford. FEMS to Boyd Unit, Inmate took too much medicine. FPD to Ray, drunk man very insistent about driving away in his car. Uh oh, don’t do it, Sport…. DWI is the charge once you get on the public street driving. Deputies to complaint of all-day loud music at Church on West 84.

Large roll of carpet in middle of IH-45, DPS Adams to same, couldn’t find it, suppose picked up by another traveler. Loose cattle, FM-80, being put up by owner. Deputy Clayton Aldrich arrests man at residence on Peach Tree, County Court Warrant. Deputy Robert Elom to loose horse troubles, FM-489, in a Lady’s yard, bumping against her house. Game Warden John Thorne working on trespassing problem, FCR-185. DPS Purnell assists stranded motorist with traffic problems, IH-45 at FM-833.

Gunshots on Ave. D in Wortham. Car drowned out at creek crossing, FCR-921. Comm. Clyde Ridge called on road flooding, FCR-941. District Judge Pat Simmons remands Probationer to the custody of the Jail. Co. Commissioner Luke Ward notified of water on road, FCR-121. Lady being carried to ER by another, possible stroke. Report of man beating woman at Housing Authority, WPD and Deputy to same.

TPD Solly and Sykora to mom’s boyfriend jumping on caller, Main St. THDEMS to Boyd Unit, Inmate with head trauma. Dep. John Aultman to 100 gallons of diesel stolen, West FM-489 out of oil patch. Man calls, driving on IH-45, feels bad, has a tingling in his arm and back, does not want an ambulance, nearly pulling in at the ER now…..Sure hope he made it. Loose cow, FM-1365. “Attention Faierfield Firemen, secure the Helipad. ETA 20 minutes.”

Seven year old having seizures, FCR-681, FEMS and Dew VFD to same. Loose cow near Teague Airport, FM-80, owner called. 911’er reports a pig is trying to cross the Interstate at Mile 187. Dispatcher Retha had suspicions, since he seemed surprised that a hog could be on the Interstate, that the caller was a City Boy….Absolute confirmation made with his next comment, “It’s a pig, as in oink, oink!”

Former Reserve Deputy and Transport Officer Bill Pullin by for a visit, health improved and going strong, glad to say. Loose red bull, FCR-1095. FPD Kindon arrests drunk man on Reunion. FPD Kindon arrests motorist on Traffic Warrants. Tragedy on North 75 with the death of a local resident in a car accident, Dep. Diana Willis, DPS Purnell to same.

Gravel trucks blocking road, FCR-532. FEMS to arm and chest pain, FM-3059. THDEMS to Lady with seizures, N. 3rd. TPD Officers to disturbance at the F&P Club. Deputies to rural residence, man called, said need help quick….Apparently he’d wanted two girlfriends overnight at his house but one didn’t like those odds.

TPD Cordova arrests man on Chestnut, Warrants. Dep. Aldrich to report of trailer stolen, FM-27, a repeat operation. Call comes in 911; man just fell out of a pickup while moving…..Never mind, he got up, got back in, took off. Fishing troubles between neighbors, US-79. Deputy Shipley to report of prowlers with flashlights, FM-27.

Deputies Diana Willis and James Barrentine to Domestic Dispute, FCR- 501. Concern over man’s abandoned vehicle at High Ridge….All okay, he’s been camping out, calling home every night. Deputy Willis to report of loose bulls, FCR-1080. FPD Tiner jails motorist, Love’s Truck Stop, DL Suspended. FEMS to East College, man very ill. WPD Carter arrests man on Dallas County Warrant, Hwy. 14.

Cars hydroplaning due to another system of storms moving through the County. To Red Ribbon Pep Rally at Fairfield Jr. High….Moon Walkers, Ninjas,Teachers dancing the Boogaloo, the Hokey-Pokey and I don’t know what else…..Mrs. Neill had ‘em all involved. The School Parade cancelled due to rain but that dampened no spirits nor enthusiasm by the kids or staff. Dep. Diana Willis to another loose cow, Old 75. Dep. John Aultman to FCR-1070, suspicious activity at residence, including pry marks on door.

TPD Cordova to N. 7th, arrests man high on dope, carried to hospital, then Jail. FPD Markham and Gallegos at Mile 197, Parole Violator. Loose cattle, FM-1366. FEMS and Kirvin VFD to possible stroke, FM-80. TPD Cordova assisting with civil standby on Mulberry. DPS Zotz arrests DWI on Hall Street, also wanted on Leon County Warrant.

Many rumors floating around regarding local bank problem….Listen, this may slow the availability of your money down a bit, but don’t fret too much. Your funds are insured by FDIC. You’ll get your money back, maybe a bit slower than you’d want, but it’ll be there. And most important of all, those folks who work at the bank, every one of them friends to all of us….. They’ll be just as honest with that cash as they’ve always been. They’ll still greet you with a warm smile every time you walk in the lobby….Just like always.

Donie VFD, THDEMS, DPS Adams and Zotz, and Doctor Chopper all assisting with overturned 18 Wheeler, FM-80. At scene, another vehicle almost strikes Donie Fireman and DPS Zotz…. stopped by DPS Clay Zotz, driver jailed when Marijuana found. FPD Frasier arrests fast driving DWI on Kelly. Dep. McGowan arrests driver on Teague Traffic Warrants. Game Warden Thorne to deer hung in fence, FCR-930. FEMS to Fairfield Football Field, broken leg feared.

Deputies Durham and Brewer to Loud Music, FCR- 300. TPD Noll and Cordova to N. 5th, car did donut in yard. FPD to kids throwing eggs on 75. Weekend house in Freestone area burglarized. Leon Co. S.O. advised of Lady locked out of house in Oakwood. DPS Putz to accident, FCR-549. TPD Howard to ER, Teague Lady there, bit by Pit Bull yesterday. FEMs and Southern Oaks VFD to chest pains, FCR-192.

Dep. Shipley to FM-489, Lady reports bird in house. TPD Monks arrests motorist, Teague City Warrant, 6th and Chestnut. THDEMS to Washington, Lady very ill. Butler VFD and FEMS to heart problems, FM-489. TPD Howard to N. 4th, man paid young man to mow his yard…..That didn’t happen….Now wants his money back. DPS Purnell arrests Frequent Flyer DWI at Mile 206….a felony charge due to frequency of arrests. FPd warren arrests woman, Controlled Substance, S. Bateman. FPD to Mile 198, kids reported playing chicken with oncoming cars.

DPS Zotz and Putz, Fairfield VFD and FEMS to accident, FM-2547. Dep. Robertson to assist Lady receiving threats from another.

Everyone thankful for the bountiful rains and now it appears that we will be blessed with some sunshine. Deer season coming quick. Thanksgiving just around the corner.
