THM donates to give veterans a lift
      Our veterans need your help. Veterans from Leon and surrounding counties visit their primary doctors at the VA clinic located in Palestine. For specialists, treatment or surgery, they must travel to the VA hospitals located in Waco or Temple. Many Vets are no longer able to drive or cannot afford to drive this distance.

Leon County Cook: Rosa Vasquez, Guadelupa Mares and Nicolasa Vasquez
      A few months ago a lovely building sprung up on Highway 75 heading north. Although there is hardly a sign visible the establishment is call “Taqueria Vasquez” and the specialty is real Tex- Mex food. The café is owned by Antonio Vasquez who has lived in Buffalo for about 10 years.

      Officer Hutchison to Commerce Street for business complaint. Officer met with manager of Dairy Queen regarding phone order that was never picked up. Incident was not a police matter but officer did document the call. Cleared as info.

Oakwood Cub Scouts adopt new pack member
      Oakwood Cub Scout Pack 610 adopted a new Pack member on Saturday. His name is 8-Ball. He's not your typical Cub Scout. 8-Ball is a 14 year old black leopard. He lives at the Tiger Creek Wildlife Sanctuary in Tyler but now he's got four little brothers right here in Oakwood.
