Seniors (L-R) Meredith Shaw, Kaila Grissett (4), Desiree Worthy (6) and Brooke Trahan (2) gave 100% at their final home game vs the Centerville Lady Tigers. Van’Go’photo Seniors (L-R) Meredith Shaw, Kaila Grissett (4), Desiree Worthy (6) and Brooke Trahan (2) gave 100% at their final home game vs the Centerville Lady Tigers. Van’Go’photo Following a short Senior Recognition ceremony honoring Tristan Brewer, Kaila Grissett, Erica Jones, Meredith Shaw, Brooke Trahan and Desiree Worthy, the Lady Bison took the floor for their last home match of the season last Friday. For six seniors, it marked the last home match of a successful high school career. Although the Lady Bison fought valiantly, they were no match for the state-ranked Centerville Lady Tigers who won 25-15, 25-10, 25-13.

Kaila Grissett led the offense and defense with six kills and fourteen digs. Meredith Shaw contributed five kills, five digs, two blocks and one service point. Kelsey Canady provided three kills and four blocks while Desiree Worthy rejected four blocks and nailed one kill. Kylan Ferguson dished seven assists, and scored one service point. Lindsey McGill managed six digs and served for three points. Brooke Trahan came up with six assists, and Karlee Ferguson added one. Tristan Brewer served for one point while Erica Jones blocked for a point.

The sub varsity teams struggled with the Lady Tigers as well. The junior varsity team fell 8-25, 16-25 as unforced errors slowed the Lady Bison. Courtney Dudley served for four points for the Lady Bison, and Reagan Read totaled three. Laken McCabe served for two points, and Heather Sigert added one. Emily Grissett provided a strong blocking presence for the Lady Bison. Haley Ellison and Raven Lott played well on offense while Hannah Wilson had several key digs.

The freshmen, playing without several players who played with the junior varsity, faced a much taller Centerville team. Although the Lady Bison gave a strong effort, Centerville won 25-16, 25-12. Ana Lopez served for five points. Chelsea Varner served three points, and Heather Humphries served for two. Kimberly Rendon added one. Erin Trahan, Ashlin Smith, Dalila Rendon, Kylen Armstrong and Zelnisha Lockett also played for the Lady Bison.
