There will be a benefit for Charles (Slick) Matthews on October 31, 2009 from 10:00AM to 4:00PM at the Butler Center off FM 439. Slick has been diagnosed with cancer. Come join his supporters for a fish fry in his honor. The cost is $10.00 for adults and children 10 and over. All proceeds will go toward Slick’s medical costs. More ... The First Baptist Church will host its annual Pumpkin Patch festivities in conjunction with Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church's Trunk or Treat. Event sites will be the FBC parking lot on the corner of Walker St. and Hwy 79, Davis's Country Store parking lot, and the front of the parking lot at the Methodist Church.There will be more fun, more food, and more prizes than ever. More ... The Fall Festival was held Saturday and was well attended. There were nearly fifty Kids and total count was over 100. None was heard to say they didn’t have a lot of fun. Things are progressing nicely on the new Buffalo High School facility on Highway 75, just north of Highway 164. Many crews were hard at work during a tour of the building last week. Some areas of the classroom wings are nearing completion, and the gym, 500-seat auditorium and ag department are taking shape as well. More ...
