Nell Lacey

Funeral services for Nell Lacey, age 87, of Centerville, were held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville. Pastor Joy Richards, pastor of The First United Methodist Church in Centerville, officiated the service and interment followed in the Centerville Cemetery.

Margaret Nell Lacey was born on October 23, 1921 in Leona, Texas to Freddie B. & Ruby Hall. She received a Bachelor of Education degree from Sam Houston State University and worked for several years at the “Triple A” Office, which later became known as the “ASC”. Later, Mrs. Lacey worked at Lacey’s Grocery doing part time and full time work. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Centerville. Her favorite hobby was working on crossword puzzles. Mrs. Lacey passed away Sunday, October 11, 2009 in Madisonville, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doug Lacey and a sister, Eloise Keeling.

Survivors include sons, Ronnie Lacey and wife, Carole of Fairfield and Danny Lacey and wife, Kim of Centerville; daughter, Lindy Rice and husband, Randy of Cen- terville; brother-in-law, Bob Lacey of Centerville; grandchildren, Karla Keaton and husband Russell, Kelly Teer and husband, Mark, Charlie, Becky, Russell and Ronnie Rice, Park Lacey and wife, Allison and Alex Lacey; great grandchildren, Cooper and Lauren Cole, Garrett and Abby Teer and Jace and Madison Lacey; one niece and several nephews.

Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas was in charge of all arrangements.
