Buffalo Police Report

October 1st – October 13th

Officer Haynie to Kennard Street for minor vehicle crash. No injuries. Crash report filed.

Officer Mouton to Gene Street for possible criminal trespass. Upon arrival, Reportee claimed common-law spouse had entered residence without permission. Reportee advised that a family violence report had been placed with the LCSO but the protective order had not been filed yet. Officer advised that until such time, access to residence could not be denied and to contact LSCO Dispatch if subject returned.

Officer Hutchison to Maple Street for a missing child. Upon arrival, officer observed child hiding between a large front window and the curtains. Grandparent notified and child was retrieved. Call cleared as info.

Officer Hutchison to Commerce Street for theft. Officer received information from employee regarding suspect including vehicle description. No record on info found. Cleared as info.

Sgt Ferrand to IH 45 for minor vehicle crash. Two vehicles involved with no injuries. Crash report filed.

Sgt Ferrand to Commerce Street for welfare check on unsecure child traveling in vehicle. Officer found vehicle matching the description of call. Vehicle was stopped. Driver was issued citation for no driver’s license. Passenger issued citation for no seatbelt. Child was secured with seatbelt in the rear seat when officer arrived at car.

Officer Mouton to Love Street in Oakwood for agency assist. Officer assisted Oakwood PD regarding a disturbance. Upon arrival, subject reported to be attempting to force entry was gone. Residence had not been entered and violence had not occurred.

Officer Haynie to Pate Park for report of reckless driver. Officer made contact with subject and advised him to use caution when driving through the park and else where. Officer spoke with Reportee regarding subject’s driving. No other police action was taken.

Officer Mouton to US 79 for agency assist with roaming livestock. Upon arrival, horse was located and secured until LCSO deputy arrived. Animal placed back in pasture. Call cleared.

Officer Mouton to Commerce Street for minor vehicle crash. Crash report filed.

Officer Haynie to Gene Street for civil matter. Upon arrival, officer met with Reportee regarding son who had previously moved out. Reportee had returned home from work to find son and two subjects in home. Two subjects were allowed to leave after interviewed. An agreement was reached between family members. No other police action taken.

Officer Hutchison to Josie Lane for civil matter. Officer met with parent who said children had been taken by other parent without permission. No documentation provided regarding custody. Parent did not believe children were in danger. Officer advised to parent to wait for them to return. Cleared as info.

Officer Hutchison & Lt Jefferson to Southfork Drive for suspicious person. Upon arrival, found subject walking on railroad tracks. Subject identified self and said was attempting to walk to Houston. Officer determined that subject did not pose at threat and was released and advised not to walk on tracks. Cleared as info.

Officer Hutchison to Buffalo Avenue for telephone harassment. Officer made contact with complainant regarding a threatening text message received on phone. Advised that could not prove who had sent message. Complainant requested close patrol of residence. Cleared as info.

Officer Hutchison to Commerce Street for fight in progress. Upon arrival, found subject that was involved in an altercation. Victim was passenger on bus which had left the scene. Subject claimed he had been defending himself. After further interview and administering HGN test, subject found to be intoxicated. Subject was arrested and taken to LCSO jail and issued citation.

Chief Pavelka to Commerce Street for welfare check on employee. Upon arrival, unable to locate employee. While waiting, employee returned. Upon interviewing, officer noticed subject appeared to be intoxicated. Subject was taken into custody and found to have controlled substances. Subject was arrested for possession of controlled substance, possession of dangerous drugs, issued a citation for public intoxication and transported to LCSO jail by Lt Jefferson.

Officer Hutchison to Commerce Street for possible counterfeit currency passed. Upon arrival, officer met with employee who had received a suspicious twenty dollar bill. Upon inspection, bill was determined to be counterfeit. Received info regarding persons who passed the bill to employee and received bill as evidence.

Officer Hutchison to Commerce Street for suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, unable to locate vehicle described. Cleared as info.

Sgt Ferrand to Commerce Street for medical call. Arrived at Brookshire Bros to find Legacy EMS already attending to individual who was a diabetic. Services were not needed. Cleared as info.

Sgt Ferrand to Commerce Street for one vehicle crash. Crash report filed.

Sgt Ferrand to Reuben Street for verbal disturbance. Officer met with both parties involved regarding possible stolen items. Items were found and was resolved as misunderstanding. Cleared as info.

Sgt Ferrand to First Street for possible assault. Victim unsure about filing charges after statement completed. Advised to think about it and to come back next day if wanting to file charges. Cleared as info.

Sgt Ferrand received call regarding welfare concern on IH 45. Subject advised officer about son being broke down on the interstate. Wrecker was in route to his location and she wanted a number for him to call if he needed further assistance. Relayed info to LCSO.

Cpl Mata to Commerce Street for burglary alarm. Employee had set off alarm when opening store doors. Employee stated she was ok and had spoke with the alarm company.

Cpl Mata to IH 45 for agency assist on rollover accident. Upon arrival, officer met with vehicle occupant who was uninjured and refused medical treatment. Gathered info for DPS. DPS took over crash when they arrived.

Cpl Mata to Commerce Street for minor vehicle crash. No injuries. Report taken.

Cpl Mata to Commerce Street for agency assist. Officer received report that a TDCJ bus had broke down and needed assistance until another bus could arrive. Officer provided security and traffic control until replacement bus arrived. Inmates were transferred to new bus.

Lt Jefferson to Buffalo Avenue for report of vehicle damage. Vehicle traveling northbound had received damage to windshield after crossing under railroad tracks. Reportee did not see anyone at the time other than southbound vehicle that had passed them. Cleared as unknown cause.

Offense Reports

Lt Jefferson to Commerce Street for theft. Officer met with employee regarding theft of merchandise. After reviewing video, probable cause affidavit was sent to JP Reid and warrant was issued.

Officer Hutchison to Commerce Street for DWI. Subject was stopped for speeding and found to be intoxicated. Subject was taken into custody and transported to LCSO jail.

Officer Mouton to Main Street for assault. Upon arrival, met with female victim who had been assaulted by male subject. Victim declined to file charges.

Sgt Ferrand to Commerce Street for forgery. Officer met with victim regarding forgery of personal documents. Remains under investigation.
