Leona Family Night - Everyone is invited to the montly Leona Family Night, 7:00 P.M., Thursday, October 22, 2009, at the Leona Community Center, located on FM 977 just east of Hwy 75. Entertainment will be by Nick Watson and Company. Bring a dish and wear your favorite Halloween costume, we are having a costume contest. Come join us for a fun night. 1st Annual Leon County Halloween Classic. Saturday, October 24th 2009. 2 Rings Heifers - 2 Rings Steers. Prizes for Class, Breed and Division Champions. Location: Lumber Mill Build- ing County Rd. 305 between Centerville and Buffalo on Hwy. 75. All proceeds go to Leon County Building Fund for the new Expo Center. The Lone Star Community Center will host its Annual Halloween Carnival on October 24, 2009. Games will begin at 6:00 p.m. and end around 9:00 p.m. Food will be served beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the dining room.

The Oakwood EE Club will be holding their annual Bake Sale on Saturday November 7th, at the Oakwood Volunteer Fire Department located on Highway 79.
