BHS hosted the Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs Friday n¡ight with high hopes for the district opener. Early in the game the teams seemed evenly matched in what was definitely a defensive battle. As the night wore on, however, the Bison had several players leave the game with injuries and BHS seemed to lose momentum proportionately, while the Bulldogs gained steam and ultimately took a 30-0 victory. More ... As Buffalo began the second half of district play the Lady Bison ‘ran the table’, defeating Corrigan-Camden on all three levels. The win separated the Lady Bison from the Lady Bulldogs, the next team in the district race, by two matches. More ... AND THEY’RE OFF! Bryce Strack, Blake Strack and Jessy Perez Champion, members of the Bison Cross-Country Team, participated in a the Varsity division at a meet Elkhart on Saturday. More ... The JV Bison had a rough night at Corrigan-Camden on Thursday evening. Several key players were out with injuries, including Travis Cunningham, D.J. Jackson, Tulio Vazquez and Charlie Herringer. With other players in new positions, Buffalo was definitely not 'on their game' and the Bulldogs took advantage of every mis-step. More ... Oakwood traveled to Apple Springs this week for their first district game. Despite flu season and injuries taking their toll, the Panthers shot down the Apple Springs Eagles and brought home the win. More ... Oakwood Junior High had a perfect season going until they hosted the Apple Springs Lions. The first quarter put the Panthers behind with the Lions picking up three touchdowns plus extra three points to go with them. More ... The Leon Cougars dominated the Hearne Eagles 27-0 on a cool October 9th evening in Jewett. The Cougars scored early in the first quarter as Chris Vasquez broke loose on a 53-yard touchdown after one-and-a-half minutes had expired. The point after was no good but the Cougars had a 6-0 lead. More ... The Cougars upped their season record to 32-3 and more importantly they remain undefeated in district with a perfect 5-0 mark. The Cougars have defeated each team in district and begin the second round of play next week and have 5 games left before the playoffs begin. More ... The Lady Tigers defeated Onalaska 25-8, 25-14, 25-7 and New Waverly 25-7, 25-14, 25-13 to remain unbeaten in district 21AA. The Tigers hosted the Onalaska Lady Cats on October 6th and had no problem in sweeping 3 games. More ... The Tigers opened district 21AA play against the New Waverly Bulldogs and hung close for 3 quarters but the Bulldogs erupted for 36 points in the 4th quarter and won 54-19 in Centerville on October 9th.
