Oakwood ISD schools closing for remainder of the week

Oakwood Independent School District will be closed October 14^th – 19^th for all students due to the high number of flu cases in the district and the number of students out with the flu or flu like symptoms.  The district had 17% of the student body out on Monday and this number climbed to 24% of the student body being out on Tuesday.  The 2008-2009 attendance rate was 96.35%.  The teacher in-service for October 19^th will remain scheduled and teachers should report to Evangelistic Temple Church before 8:30 am.

 

Junior high and high school students will need to check with their coaches and sponsors concerning practice times and game schedules for the remainder of the week.  As of this time, there will be no cancellation of contests on Thursday or Friday.
