The JV Lady Panthers showed the Lions who was really king of the jungle when they traveled to Lovelady this week. Although both games were close, Oakwood came out on top. The first game was 25-23. The second game was 25-20.

The "Wonder Twins", Whitney and Breann Hicks were really on their game this week. Whitney had 8 service points and 2 kills. Breann had 3 service points and 6 assists. This is just one more reminder that they may look alike but, they are totally different personalities. Ashley Owens was really serving it up. She made 6 service points for her team. Chante Hudson and Brittany Cotten each had 3 service points. Cotten also had 5 assists and a kill. Shametris Owens had 4 service points, a kill, a dig, and an ace.

The JV team is looking forward to tonight's game in Grapeland.

Varsity at Lovelady:

The Varsity Lady Panthers took their turn on the Lovelady court, and they too showed the Lady Lions who the fiercest cats really are. It was a long and brutal battle. The first game went to the Lady Panthers with 25-22. The second game went to the the Lady Lions with 18- 25. The volley continued as Oakwood picked up the next game with 25-16. The next game went back to Lovelady for a score of 23-25. It seemed to be never ending! One last game was played to determine the winner once and for all. That game went to the Lady Panthers.

Melanie Minter had her best game ever. She had 10 service points, 2 kills, 2 digs, and 6 service aces! Christina Hudson had another fantastic night. She had 16 kills, a dig, 2 blocks, and 2 service aces. Lisa Stevens had 8 kills, a dig, 4 assists, 4 aces, and 2 service points. She really knows how to maintain well rounded stats. Ava Walker backed up her teammates with 3 assists, a service ace, and 4 service points. Jocelyn Williams "brought the wood" with her 5 assists, 5 digs, and 9 services points. Felicia Williams had an amazing night as well. She had 12 kills, a dig, 3 blocks, 2 aces, and 3 service points.

The Varsity Lady Panthers are also looking forward to playing in Grapeland Tuesday night.
