OJHS Lady Panthers Pounce on Kennard’s Lady Tigers

Photo by Melissa Missildine The Oakwood Lady Panthers pounced on the Kennard Lady Tigers last Monday night. It was brutal. The first game was 25-9, the second was 25-10, and the third was 25-13. The match was over quickly, lasting only about 40 minutes.

The points Kennard did make, were mostly due to Oakwood's own mistakes. As a young team, they are still learning not to get overly excited and hit the ball too hard and send it out of bounds. The Junior High team has some real potential though. Their "ace in the hole" is Anissa Dawson. This girl can serve it up! She put up 22 service points for the night. Janna Campbell is another hard hitter. She put up 10 service points. Candace Hudson brought in 3 service points and Leslie Turner had one service point. The other points earned for the night were from Oakwood being on the winning side of short volleys.

The Junior High Lady Panthers will play at home on October 5 against the Latexo Lady Tigers.
