Locals qualify for CPRA finals

Contributed photo Leon County will be well-represented at the Cowboys Professional Rodeo Association finals to be held at the Brazoria County Fair in Angleton, Texas on October 9-11. Stevie Ahearn of Jewett and Buffalo’s Markay Carmeans both made the Barrel Racing finals, and Jeremy Melancon finaled in the Saddle Bronc competition. The rodeo athletes earned a spot in the finals by making the Top Fifteen in their event at the qualifying rodeo.
