Junior High Lady Bison v’ballers blank Centerville

Van’Go’photo The Junior High Lady Bison blanked the Centerville Lady Tigers last Monday night. All four Buffalo teams defeated the Lady Tigers in their last district contest with their county rival. The Lady Bison will travel to Anderson- Shiro on October 5th before participating in the Elkhart Tournament on Saturday, October 10th.

Coach Kyle Gleghorn’s Seventh Grade B team defeated the Lady Tigers 25-17, 25- 22. Tailor Jenkins and Deisy Zaldivar served for seven points each. Mayte Compean served three points while Karen Garcia and Ashton Little each served two. Erykah Anderson, Shekinah Amos, Kayle Gordon, Essence Dews and Jamie Phillips all served one point each.

The Eighth Grade B team won the first set 25-13, but dropped the second set 12-25. Centerville led 22- 24, but the Lady Bison came back to claim the match with a 26-24 win. Haley Brewer served the final four points and finished the night with eight points. Meghan Shaver served a total of ten points while Evan Jones served for seven. Shandel Richardson served three points, Jackie Zacharias served two, and Julie Cook added one.

The Seventh Grade A team won an exciting match with close set wins, 25-23 and 26-24. Taryn Morman and Emma Shaw each served for eight points. Kendall Lee tallied seven. Marissa Jones served five points, and Lauren Helmcamp added one. Cassidy Graves had several hits for BJHS.

The Eighth Grade A team wrapped up a successful match with a three-set win. Hannah Laningham served for ten points while Hailey Laningham and Katie Glick each served for nine. Shelby Ballard served eight points, and Kortni Hibbard added five. Bethany Gaskin served for four. Mickie Chitwood and Chelsea Brewer also contributed in the win.
