With back-to-back losses last week, the Lady Bison dug a hole for themselves as the first half of district play came to an end. Buffalo fell to Centerville on Tuesday, but the fatal blow came with a three-set loss to New Waverly on Friday. Centerville, the third ranked team in the state, cruised through the first half at 7-0. After coming up short in a valiant performance in Centerville on Tuesday, the Buffalo junior varsity Lady Bison nipped a victory from the jaws of New Waverly's Lady Bulldogs on Friday. The junior varsity Lady Bison finished the first half with 4-3 slate. The freshmen team was a bit rusty after a week long lay off, and fell to the Lady Tigers in straight sets. More ... The Junior High Lady Bison blanked the Centerville Lady Tigers last Monday night. All four Buffalo teams defeated the Lady Tigers in their last district contest with their county rival. The Lady Bison will travel to Anderson- Shiro on October 5th before participating in the Elkhart Tournament on Saturday, October 10th. More ... With an open week on the high school schedule, football fans had to be satisfied with a pair of pickup games which the coaching staff arranged for their junior high youngters on Tuesday afternoon at Brewer Field-- and satisfying they certainly were. The home teams both came away with wins, protecting perfect season records of 3-0. SEVENTH vs CAYUGA More ... The Oakwood Lady Panthers pounced on the Kennard Lady Tigers last Monday night. It was brutal. The first game was 25-9, the second was 25-10, and the third was 25-13. The match was over quickly, lasting only about 40 minutes. More ... Hilltop Lakes Ladies Golf Results September 30-October 1 (Wednesday and Thursday), the 18-hole Ladies had their Club Championship Tournament. Seventeen players participated and the results were determined based on the two-day scores (Total 2-day Gross). We also awarded first and second place for each flight. Congratulations to all winners. More ... JV at Lovelady: The JV Lady Panthers showed the Lions who was really king of the jungle when they traveled to Lovelady this week. Although both games were close, Oakwood came out on top. In a battle of unbeatens, the Centerville Lady Tigers beat the Anderson-Shiro Lady Owls 25-5, 25-15, and 25-10 in Centerville on October 2nd to take the undisputed lead in the district volleyball race at the end of the first half of the season. Earlier in the week the Lady Tigers defeated the Buffalo Lady Bison 25-11, 25-11, and 25-12 on September 29th in Centerville. More ... In an early showdown of unbeaten teams, Leon’s Lady Cougars defeated the Franklin Lady Lions 25-15, 25-12, and 25-20 on September 29th in Jewett to maintain their unblemished record in district play. The Cougars jumped to a 14-5 lead in the first game, and maintained a comfortable lead and won 25-15. More ... The Oakwood Junior High Panthers had the Leveretts Chapel Lions over to their den Thursday night. The fight was on. The battle went back and forth through all four quarters with the Panthers ending up on top. More ...
