Bobbie Leona Adams

Funeral services for Bobbie Leona Adams, age 77, of Fairfield, Texas, formerly of Houston were held 10:00 am, Thursday, October 1, 2009 at the Walters Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas. Rev. Jack Smith, Jr. officiated the service and interment was 3 pm in the Giesenschlay Cemetery, Burleson County, Snook, Texas. Walters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Bobbie Leona Adams was born February 29, 1932 in Navarro Co., Texas to William Nichole Otto and Ester Irene (Rodgers) Rabe. She lived forty one years in Houston, seven years in Buffalo and the past four years in Fairfield. Bobbie worked for Pinemont Bank about thirty one years retiring in 1995 as Assistant V.P. and Data Processing Manager. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. She would fix “midnight breakfasts” for her grandchildren. People frequently came to her for advice. She was a “mother” to every child that walked through her house.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin Adams; three brothers, Travis Rabe, Wilson Rabe, Rodgers Rabe; sisters, Mildred Rabe, Estelle McKnight, Pansy Hughes, and Bonnie Beshears. Bobbie passed away Monday, September 28, 2009 in a hospital in Tyler.

Bobbie is survived by one son & daughter-in-law, Curtis and Cathy Adams of Buffalo, Texas; four daughters & two sons-in-law, Donna and Steve Miller of Tyler, Texas, Melva Adams of Buffalo, Texas, Bobbie Jean Adams of Austin, Texas, and Betty & David Garcia of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren, Heather Booker & husband, Brandon of Spring, Texas, Christina Fickenger & husband, Greg of Batton Rouge, LA., Jeffery Miller, Jeremy Miller, and Julie Miller all of Tyler, Texas and Alexandria Howell of San Antonio, Texas; two great grandchildren, Nathan Booker and Bryanna Booker of Spring, Texas.

The pallbearers were Dennis Leland, Ronald Leland, Jimmy Leland, Jeff Beshears, Jeffrey Beshears, and Jeremy Miller. The honorary pallbearers were Arty Beshears and Phillip Beshears.
