Eddie Marie Scott

Funeral services for Eddie Marie Scott, age 86 of Centerville, were held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Bro. Dale Evans officiated the service and interment followed in the Clear Creek Cemetery. Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas was In charge of all arrangements.

Eddie Marie Scott was born on May 15, 1923 in Normangee, Texas. She worked as a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and being outdoors. Mrs. Scott and her husband enjoyed dancing. In fact, they had a vast music collection of cajun, gospel and bluegrass music and enjoyed traveling to places where Cajun Festivals were held. Mrs. Scott taught many of her grandchildren to dance. She lived most of her life in the Houston and Marquez areas and most recently in Centerville. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert S. Scott; brothers, Raymond & Truman Moon & sister, Dennie Utsey.

Survivors include sons, Charlie Scott of Bellville and Cecil Scott & wife, Pat of Porter; daughters, Lawon Weeks of Diboll & Hazel Phillips & husband, Ray of Hilltop Lakes; sisters, Pearl Filgas of Fresno, California & Evelyn Adams of Hilltop Lakes; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Carlos Scott, Henry Scott, Mark Scott, Allan Bailey, Rocky Holly & Michael Holly.

Honorary pallbearer was Hon. Jacob Bartose.
