Anderson County gang rape suspect arrested in Buffalo A suspect in the gang rape of a 27-year-old female was arrested by Leon County Sheriff’s deputies on September 22nd outside of Buffalo, with the assistance of Buffalo Police Department officers. Dustin M. Huffman, a 30-year-old white male from Palestine, was apprehended at a Leon County residence on CR 327. According to Anderson County Sheriff’s office, a warrant had been issued for Huffman on September 11th after the woman reported that she had been raped by several men. Anderson County Crimestoppers tips led investigators to believe Huffman was in the Buffalo area. Leon County Chief Deputy Brent Walter, Lt. Ellis, Deputies Regis, Foster, and Young and Sgt. Ferrand of Buffalo PD arrived at the suspect’s location at 9:00 in the morning. According to the Sheriff’s Office report, Chief Walter and Lt. Ellis knocked on the front and back doors of the residence without a response. Lt. Ellis then went to a bedroom window located on the southwest corner of the residence and continued to knock. At 9:30, a female answered the door. Officers entered the residence and after a short search located the suspect hiding in a bedroom. The suspect was arrested without incident and transported to the Leon County Jail where he was booked for Aggravated Sexual Assault warrant out of Anderson County. He has since been transported to the Anderson County Jail. Two other men have also been arrested and charged with engaging in Organized Criminal Activity and Aggravated Sexual Assault of a female and are being held in lieu of $150,000 bond. |
