Stampede a big success

The 2009 Buffalo Stampede was a rousing success and much credit must go to the Chamber of Commerce members who did the preparatory work for the event. The Stampede events committee heads were: Parade- -Martin Housler, 42 Tournment Wain Glass, Horseshoe Tournament—Martin Housler, Raffle—Reitha Hullum and Donna Melasky, Kids Games—Leah Pruitt, Auction— Donna Melasky and Martin Housler, Entertainment— Dianne Ryder, Beauty Pageant—Leah Pruitt and Deanna Ezell, Car Show— Reitha Hullum and Kevin Raboin, Dog Show—Sherry Hanley and Andrea , 5K Fun Run—Vanessa Goodwyn, Clean-up crew—Bob Winn and the Celebration Church crew.

Winners: Parade Awards: Float—HOCHHEIM Prairie Insurance, Float-Civic, Beauty Pagent, Mandy Pate, 4-Wheeler, Sam Glick, Horse/Rider—James Coker, Car—Tim Webb, Lawn Mowers—Master Gardners.

42 Domino Tournament: 1st Place—Howard Delius and Jim Lenox. 2nd Place—Dr. Jonas Russell and Dr. Tanner Self.

Horseshoe Tournament: Friday night, 1st- Jeff Ratcliff and Ed Chatterly. 2nd- Polly Murphy and George Cockrell. 3rd- Jake Leonard and Ron Murphy.

Sat. night, 1st- Bob Winn and Jeff Ratcliff. 2nd- Ron Murphy and Wayne Mosley. 3rd- Luke Murphy and George Cockrell.

Dog Show: Most obedient 1st Kyle Swetlick and Cason, 2nd- Trevor Humphries and Max. Best Trick- 1st Trevor Humphries and Max, 2nd- Taylor Ayers and Jenna. Wagginest Tail- 1st Taylor Ayers and Jenna, 2nd- Jairo Nunez-Triplett and Lucy. Best Dressed- 1st Taylor Lack and Gabby, 2nd Ima Champion and Tinker. Owner/ Pet look alike- 1st Sarah Burchfield and Angel, 2nd Julie Cook and Snickers.
