The varsity Lady Bison volleyball team struggled for consistency last week, losing two matches mainly through their own errors. Buffalo dropped a district contest to Anderson-Shiro on Tuesday before they fell to Elkhart in non-district action on Friday. The Lady Bison are now 14- 12 for the year, and 1-1 in district play.
The Lady Bison returned to the floor with all personnel Tuesday night for the first time in ten days. After defeating Corrigan-Camden without two key players, Buffalo had a bye Friday after Hearne cancelled due to over scheduling. Anderson-Shiro showed up ready to play ball held on to win 25-16, 25-18, 27-25.

Senior Meredith Shaw led the team in serving with ten points. Brooke Trahan and Tristan Brewer each served for five points each. Jordyn Briscoe and Kylan Ferguson served for four each. Kelsey Canady added two.
Desiree Worthy managed some key blocks while Trahan and Kylan Ferguson distributed the sets. Shaw, Briscoe, Karlee Ferguson and Kaila Grissett all found open court at times against a strong defensive club. Libero Lindsey McGill led the team in digs.
“Anderson-Shiro has a strong volleyball program,” said Coach Lori Shaw. “They always put a quality team on the floor. They gave us some trouble with their block and tough serving.”
The Lady Bison focused on receiving serve and covering behind the block in preparation for Friday’s game against Elkhart. A rowdy crowd bothered the Buffalo team who committed fifteen serving errors, four blocking errors and twenty-one hitting errors in the loss. Elkhart won 24-26, 20-25, 23-25.
“Elkhart is a much improved team,” commented Coach Lori Shaw. “We’d split earlier in the season, and we knew it would be a close game. I was hoping we’d help ourselves a little more than we were able to.”
Kylan Ferguson led the team in service points with ten followed by Briscoe with eight. Brewer contributed five points while Shaw and Trahan each added four. Karlee Ferguson served for three.
Shaw and Worthy led the team in kills with six each. Briscoe and Grissett landed four each. Karlee Ferguson nailed two kills, and Kylan Ferguson added one. Kylan Ferguson contributed three blocks while Worthy rejected one. McGill and Briscoe worked the back row with eleven and ten digs, respectively. Grissett tallied seven while Worthy provided five. Trahan dished seven assists in the match. Kylan Ferguson came up with three, and Shaw added one.
