Mayor of Jewett declares a proclamation for Fall Frolic Day
      Hosted by the Jewett Area Chamber of Commerce, the City of Jewett will hold its 27th Fall Frolic on October 10, 2009. Kristi Vandergriff with the JACC was on hand to explain some of the plans for the big event. A street dance is planned for the first time this year, along with a rock wall for climbing, a jousting ring and a silent auction. A parade is planned for 8:30 a.m.

Stampede!
      Don’t miss the fun and action at the 30th Annual Buffalo Stampede this Friday and Saturday. The action kicks off with a 42 domino tournament at Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church along with refreshments. The prizes for the winning teams will be a buffalo-engraved domino set.

Grand Jury indicts fifteen
     Whitney T. Smith, District Attorney met with the Leon County Grand Jury members September 3, 2009 and presented eighteen cases of crimes alleged to have occurred in Leon County, for their review. An indictment (true bill) was returned on fifteen cases and three cases were no-billed.
