Fences keep out feral hog moochers at deer feeders; let deer pass
      OVERTON – Farmers and ranchers may be inadvertently aiding and abetting one of their worst enemies, the feral hog, by providing supplemental feed for white-tailed deer and other wildlife, said a Texas AgriLife Extension Service wildlife expert.

Oakwood EE Club inducts new officers
      The Oakwood Education Extension League had its first meeting of the fiscal year this week. Top priority? The installation of the officers for 2009-2010. Special guest, Tina Smith, made the presentation in which she spoke of the hard work and dedication these ladies would bring to the EE Club, the community, and the students of Oakwood.

      The next Buffalo 4-H meeting will be on Monday September 21st at Stewart Memorial Methodist Church at 7:00 p.m. It's not too late to join 4-H, so if you're interested in doing a project, make plans now to attend. Students in 3rd grade through 12th grade can join.
