Buffalo football fans heading home from Friday night's game were among the first on the scene of a tragic one-car accident that took the lives of three Anderson County teens and left three others hospitalized. The accident occurred at 9:50 p.m. -- just about the time the game ended and the announcer offered a prayer for the safety of everyone travelling home on the rain-slick roads.   More...

Hosted by the Jewett Area Chamber of Commerce, the City of Jewett will hold its 27th Fall Frolic on October 10, 2009. Kristi Vandergriff with the JACC was on hand to explain some of the plans for the big event. Kenneth Wiley Woodard, born in Flo, Texas, January 13, 1933, left this world September 7, 2009. He was the youngest child of Dugan and Nettie (Jones) Woodard. He attended Lone Star School, graduated from Centerville High School, Texas A&M University and Sam Houston State University. He was a retired teacher and principal. Ken served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955.  More...
