Lady Bison Win District Opener

Buffalo’s volleyball teams hit the road last Tuesday to begin district play in Corrigan-Camden. The Lady Bison won at the ninth grade and varsity levels, while the Lady Bulldogs stole the junior varsity match. Buffalo will host Anderson-Shiro on Tuesday for the next district match up.

The varsity Lady Bison took the floor with a whole new look, playing without two major contributors. Senior Kaila Grissett was sidelined due to a separated shoulder sustained in the tournament last weekend while junior Jordyn Briscoe was ill. The remaining Lady Bison stepped it up to win the match in four sets, 25-19, 25- 21, 13-25, 25-12.

Brooke Trahan and Lindsey McGill provided fourteen and eleven service points to pace the Lady Bison. Tristan Brewer and Meredith Shaw served for nine and seven points, respectively. Karlee Ferguson served for six points, and Kylan Ferguson served five points. Desiree Worthy played one of her most aggressive games of the season, tattooing eight kills and scoring on a block. Karlee Ferguson and Shaw each landed four kills while Kylan Ferguson nailed three. Kelsey Canady added three kills, and Erica Jones managed one.
