Porter joins BISD staff

Blake Porter Buffalo Junior High and the athletic department at BISD have picked up an experienced educator, Blake Porter, who is coming back to teaching after a hiatus. He will be teaching seventh grade science and his coaching assignments will include 8th grade volleyball, 9th grade volleyball and football and golf at the high school.

Porter is a native of Jacksonville, grew up in East Texas and graduated from Stephen F. Austin in ‘91 with a degree in kinesiology. He has previously worked with BHS’ coaches Ron and Lori Shaw for about nine years back when they were all on staff at Edgewood ISD.

Asked about his hobbies, Porter mentioned golf and aviation. He is a licensed single-engine pilot.
