Alice Lucielle Leitko
Funeral services for Alice Lucielle Leitko, age 86, of Madisonville and formerly of Buffalo and Houston were held at 10 AM, Friday, August 7, 2009 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Centerville. Pastor Trey Riensta officiated and a graveside/interment service was held at 3 PM at the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Lee County near Dime Box, Texas.
Alice L. Leitko was born on June 6, 1923 in Caldwell, Texas to the late Willie Joe and Millie Mae (Skopek) Kovar. She married Willie Herbert “Bill” Leitko on September 17, 1940. She and Bill lived much of their life in Houston. Alice worked for many years at Spring Branch School Cafeteria. She was a devoted mother who loved her family with all of her heart. She loved to sew, was a great cook and spent a lot of her “at home” time working in her yard. Her husband, Bill died in 1991, and in 1996, she moved to Buffalo with her daughter, Penny. She continued to work with her hands and in the yard. She was a faithful member and worker at Our Savior Lutheran Church and was a role model for her children and grandchildren. Alice passed away on August 4, 2009 in Madisonville, Texas.
She is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Sykes and her husband, Doug, of Angleton, Texas and Penny Golden and her husband, John, of Buffalo; two grandsons, James West and his wife, Rhonda, of Willis and Travis Golden and his wife, Brittany, of Franklin and one great granddaughter, Briahna West of Willis.
Serving as pallbearers were James West, Travis Golden, Richard Golden, Justin Golden, Dennis Mizell and Richard Keating.

Services were under the direction of Walters Funeral Home in Centerville.
