      Natalie Jean Dodd and Christopher Alan Hildebrand were united in marriage on Saturday, July 18th, 2009, at six o’clock in the evening in Ellis Chapel at Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Pike Wisner. Special music was provided by Miss Devon Fuqua and Miss Callie Nixon.

      The Oakwood Education Extension League gave it's annual Welcome Back Luncheon to the O.I.S.D. teachers and staff on Friday. This civic minded education club has been honoring the teachers and staff of the Oakwood school system with this luncheon for more than five years.

School supply drive a success

      The first city wide school supply drive, sponsored by the City of Oakwood, the Oakwood Police Department, and the Oakwood Dirty Riderz horse riding club was a raging success. Stacy Salguero, city secretary/ court reporter and April (aka Kourage) Brown and Linda Johnson of the Dirty Riderz presented O.I.S.D. counselor Lori Olive with the gathered school supplies on Thursday.

      The Flo Volunteer Fire Department met with Air Evac 53 Air Ambulance Service on August 20th, 2009 at the actual LZ area on FM831, near the old Flo Store, on the property of Mr. Buddy Kaiser, who has graciously allowed use of his property for this purpose.
