Everyone is invited to the Leona Family Night, 7:00 PM, Thursday, August 27, at the Leona Community Center, located on FM 977 just East of Hwy 75, in downtown Leona. Bring a dish, and be prepared for some excellent fellowship and some great entertainment. Performing for us will be the Zion Jubilee Singers, from Bryan. The five brothers grew up in Leon County and have been singing together for over 50 years. They have performed all over the U.S. and Europe. They are regarded as one of the top gospel groups around. Meals on Wheels and the Palestine Senior Activity Center’s Dogwood Travelers are sponsoring a 10-day trip to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon, October 16-25. The price is $954 for double occupany (more or less for single and triple occupancy) and includes motor coach transportation, nine nights lodging, 12 meals, two days of sightseeing on the Las Vegas Strip, the Grand Canyon and Petrified Forest National Parks, and shopping en route on Route 66. PTO Co-ed Softball Tournament - Come join us for our first annual co-ed softball tournament to be held on September 19th, 2009 at the baseball fields behind Centerville Elementary! Rosters and rules will be available at Davis Feed & Fertilizer in Centerville & Buffalo, Citizens State Bank in Centerville & Buffalo, Wells Fargo Bank in Centerville, Home Town Pizza in Jewett and Holmes Pharmacy in Jewett. The cost will be $125.00 per team, with a maximum of 15 players and minimum of 8. The deadline for team money and rosters will be September 1st! You can turn them into Angie Roberts at Wells Fargo Bank in Centerville. This is one of our many fundraisers of the year - so come out and enjoy a family event!!
