Blessing of the backpacks

Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church of Buffalo will hold its annual Blessing of the Backpacks celebration during the worship service on Sunday, August 23rd.

Students of all ages (preschool through college), teachers, faculty and administrators are invited to bring their backpacks, book bags, and briefcases to be blessed for a successful upcoming school year. They will also receive a special backpack tag to remind them of the blessing throughout the year.

Blessings will be given at the 11 a.m. worship service in the sanctuary. The public is invited to attend. In addition, Pastor Kevin Gilmore will kick off a three-week sermon series called “The Blessing.”
