Elementary welcomes Rosie Ard
Rosie Ard
BISD welcomes Rosie Ard to the staff at Buffalo Elementary School where she will serve as the computer lab aide. BES also gains a staff member who is fluent in Spanish, which will be a great benefit to that campus.
Mrs. Ard moved here last winter from Pottsboro, Texas to be with her husband of 36 years, Jack Ard, who joined the BJHS teaching staff last year and is a member of the Buffalo boys athletics coaching staff. Before moving to Buffalo, Rosie worked at Grayson County College in the Counseling and Administration office. After relocating to Leon County, she sub stituted at BHS and BJHS last spring and is looking forward to working with the district's younger students, too. Mrs. Ard thinks it is important that students acquire confidence working with computers at an early age. "I have been working with computers ever since I got in the work force," Rosie explains. "I thoroughly enjoy elementary kids and want to get them started on the right home keys, and help them so when THEY get out in the workforce, they'll be knowledgable." Asked to identify her strength in the classroom, Mrs. Ard did not hesitate: "Patience! and having a happy demeanor." Indeed, both traits are evident as soon as you meet this charming woman.
