James A. Moore

Funeral services for James A. Moore, age 81 of Buffalo were held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the Flo Community Baptist Church. Rev. Kenneth Stone, pastor, officiated and burial was in the Brushy Cemetery. Walters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

James A. Moore was born February 26, 1928 in Leon County, Texas. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a self-employed custom farmer and did work such as hay bailing and grass planting. Mr. Moore was a member of the Flo Community Baptist Church for fifty years. He and his wife, Susie were married for almost sixty years. James Moore was a husband, father, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather. He liked the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a great “jokester” with a sense of humor. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and often rode them around in the family “mule”. He died peacefully at his home on July 30, 2009 following a lengthy illness.

James Moore was preceded in death by his parents, George and Edna (Cotton) Moore; brothers, Dennie and Claude Moore; sisters, Lestil Neal and Lola Mae Pate; great grandson, Dylan Moore and son-in-law, Duane Irvine.

Surviving family members include his wife, Susie Moore of Flo; daughter, Beverly Irvine of Flo; sons, Ronald Moore and his wife, Tina, of Flo and Kenneth Moore and his wife, Julie, of Flo; six grandchildren, Jason and Shirley Moore of Frankston, Tisha and Scott Wilson of Centerville, Kendra and Carl Grissett of Dew, Seth and Randi Moore of Flo, Cody and Angela Moore of Flo and Kimberly and James Morris of Donie; ten great grandchildren, Allison and Abigail Moore, Kayla and Rebecca Wilson, Thomas and Trevor Grissett, Aidan, Ethan and Aaron Moore, Trent Moore, Brittany and Summer Mann and a host of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his many friends.

Surviving as pallbearers were grandsons, Jason Moore, Seth Moore, Cody Moore, Scott Wilson, Carl Grissett and James Morris.
