Cleanup continues since the late April fire on a tressle south of Oakwood caused a Union Pacific train to derail.

Union Pacific Railway public relations staffer Raquel Espinoza gave this update on the progress. "The bridge was completed and up and running seventy-two hours after the incident. Our crews are now working on clean-up, including romoving the locomotives (from the creekbed below), and environmental clean-up. It'll be awhile before we complete that process, to make sure the site is left the way it was before."

Espinoza concluded, "We appreciate the communities' patience and understanding as we complete this cleanup. Everybody's been very welcoming and our employees really appreciate that."
