Alberto Ortiz

Funeral services for Alberto Ortiz, age 52, of the Buffalo and Jewett area were held 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at the Walters Buffalo Funeral Home. Father Ted Rydelek officiated the services. Burial followed in the Buffalo City Cemetery.

Mr. Ortiz was born November 15, 1956 in Mexico. He was Catholic and worked as a welder in ranching. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Ortiz died July 17, 2009 in Buffalo, Texas.

Surviving family includes his son, Fernando Ortiz of Jewett; two daughters, Lahura (PRONOUNCED LAURA) Salazar of Jewett and Amanda Ortiz of Buffalo; three brothers, Jesus (PRONOUNCED HAY-ZEUS) Ortiz of Flynn, Luis Ortiz of Waco and Margarito Ortiz of Springdale, Arkansas; two sisters, M. Natividad Rivera of Bryan and Elena Ortiz of Mexico and five grandchildren, Cruz Alberto Ortiz, Luis Fernando Ortiz, Terrell Anthony Brooks, Jr., Jesus Manuel Salazar and Victoria Grace Brooks.

The pallbearers were Juan Ortiz, Terrell Brooks, Pete Salazar, Fernando Ortiz, Tony Rivera, and Mauricio Lopez.
