Davis Machine Pitch team wraps up summer season

Brett Hoffman mimics his coach, Tommy Davis. Van’Go’photo The Davis Machine Pitch team of Buffalo topped off a great season by taking the District Runner-Up trophy last week. Coming into the season, only 3 of the 13 kids had experience at this level of baseball. This group of kids continued to improve throughout the season and finished with the 2nd place trophy at the Leon County Tournament in Centerville and earned a berth in the District Tournament last week. The kids won games against teams from Fairfield and Rusk before dropping the Championship game to another good team from Buffalo. Coaches Tommy Davis, Damon Best, Gabe Cardenas and Stephen Young would like to thank all of the kids and their parents for a great year. It is our hope that all of these kids have learned something valuable about the game of baseball and will continue to play as they go forward. We would like to wish the Buffalo Jonas team good luck in their bid for state and look forward to our goal of earning a trip next year.
