Distance runner Calvin Young, a sophomore at BHS, trimmed a whopping two minutes off his personal best in a 5K Saturday at the 13th Annual "Too Hot To Handle" run held at White Rock Lake in Dallas. Paced by Leon County Running Club teammate Chad Nelson -- and inspired by the 3000+ other runners at the race -- Young covered the 3.1 mile course in a time of 19:40. The teen has been putting in 35-40 miles per week in his summer training, and it paid off on Saturday. "I feel like I achieved something!" Young acknowledged. More ... “Go! Go! The Air Jam Ballerz, the 18-and-Under AAU basketball team coached by Errol Jones, is headed to the Prime Time Sportz national tournament this week. The team is composed of boys from Buffalo and Fort Worth, and they have competed successfully throughout the summer to earn their shot at a national title. Buffalo hosted the District Machine Pitch Championship Tournament last week at Harriman Park.
