Centerville breezes through agenda On a hot, sticky, summer evening the Centerville City Council breezed through their regular meeting with little or no conflict. The Council held its meeting on Thursday, July 9 in the Municipal Building Meeting Room. With no one present for public comments the Council approved last month’s minutes and immediately went to a slide presentation by attorney Charley Johnson. Johnson had suggestions for building ordinances which the Council had requested. He expects to have a draft ready by the next meeting. KTR, and organization that wants to construct a new subdivision outside of Centerville, agreed to become annexed to the city in order to receive water and sewer services. John A. Blakeway submitted a letter of proposal to perform the 2009 audit. The proposal was accepted. City Secretary Lindsie Wood was appointed as Tax Assessor-Collector for the City of Centerville. This is her second year to perform this function. After the Council approved payment of bills the meeting was adjourned. |
