Tadlock-Gaskin Wed

Jamie Jeanice and Kevin Lee Gaskin Jamie Jeanice and Kevin Lee Gaskin Jamie Jeanice Tadlock and Kevin Lee Gaskin were united in holy matrimony on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 7:00 PM in the 7F Chapel. Brother Ray Grissett of Buffalo performed the double ring ceremony. The chapel was lit by candlelight and adorned with a swag of red roses, silver branches, white tulle and black accents. The bride was given in marriage by her parents, James and Kim Tadlock of Marquez and her other fathers, Leondale and George Grayson of Marquez and Tommy Ainsworth of Buffalo. The bride and groom lit the unity candle to the song “In Color”.

The bride wore “Samara”, a Maggie Sottero A-line gown of capri taffeta featuring a sweetheart, strapless neckline and a corset back. The pleated feature on the side of the waist was ornamented with a rich lace appliqué in black and silver. The lace accented the neckline and finished the hem and train. Embellishments of bugle beads, sequins, and seed beads in black, white and silver completed the dress. The fingertip veil was trimmed in matching lace and bead embellishments. She wore black, full-quill ostrich cowboy boots with red tops under her dress. The groom wore a black tuxedo and white shirt with white vest and tie.

The bridesmaids wore black, strapless empire-waist chiffon full-length gowns. The Maids of Honor were Lauren Bullin of Thorndale, life-long friend of the bride and Connie Tadlock, sister of the bride. Other bridesmaids were Teri Templeton of Franklin, co-worker of the groom, Whitley Ivey of Jewett, life-long friend of the bride and Jessica Robbins of Bryan, college classmate of the bride. The flower girl, Calliegh Steinfield of Rosenberg, cousin of the bride, wore a diamond white dress with black sash and red rose. The groomsmen wore black tuxedos and white shirts with black ties and vests. The best man and brother of the groom was A. J. Lummus of Buffalo. The other groomsmen were Clay Waters of Buffalo, life-long friend of the groom, Ernest Del Bosque of Cameron, co-worker of the groom, Michael Grissett of Buffalo, cousin of the groom, and Trent Hullum of Buffalo, life-long friend of the groom. The ring bearer was Abbott Waldon of Palestine, nephew of the bride.

The bride carried a bouquet of deep red roses with square and round crystals added. The stems were wrapped in black satin ribbon and secured with crystal pins. Each bridesmaid carried a bouquet of red roses wrapped in black ribbon. The boutonnières were red roses on white backgrounds with silver leaves and black ribbons. The corsages continued the theme.

The reception followed the ceremony in the 7F pavilion continuing the black and white theme. The round tables were decorated with alternating arrangements of square vases containing lights, black river rocks and topped with red roses sitting on a mirrored base surrounded by candlelight, crystals and rose petals. The alternate arrangement was a glowing bowl of frosted beach glass and clear beads with red roses sitting on a mirrored base surrounded by candlelight, crystals and rose petals. The head table was covered in white linens with black organza overlays and decorated with rose petals and crystals. The table was flanked by two urns of black fleur de le and silvery lights that held white branches and red leafed stems. The pavilion was draped with black sheer curtains tied with white tulle bows and white sheer curtains tied with black tulle and silver ribbon bows. The top of the pavilion was surrounded in icicle lights wrapped in tulle and string lights draped through the rafters gave the feeling of a starry night overhead.

The cake, made by the bride’s grandmother, was white cake with butter cream icing decorated with black trim and red roses. The wedding topper was hand painted by Kathy Dean to match Jamie’s dress and Kevin’s tuxedo. The groom’s cake, made by Libby Samford, was chocolate with butter cream icing and designed to replicate a Texas State Trooper Badge. The cake table was adorned with two tall pilsner shaped glass vases containing lights, black river rocks and topped with flower arrangements containing red roses, greenery, white flowers, silver accents and black branches provided by Sandcastles florist of Jewett. Sandcastles did all the wedding florals.

The dinner was catered by Buppy’s of Bryan and consisted of BBQ brisket, chicken and sausage, potato salad, cole slaw, beans and tea. The tables were set with black square plates, fluted glasses, silverware and black napkins. Cocktails were served throughout the night, as well as punch and coffee. The bride’s aunt and uncle provided a chocolate fountain and fruit bar for the reception.

The bride and groom retired to their cabin after the festivities. They have honeymoon plans for later in the year. Jamie is pursuing her agriculture degree from Sam Houston State University and plans to graduate in December. She works part-time at Gilliam’s Grocery and will student teach this fall at Fairfield High School. Kevin is currently a State Trooper with the Department of Public Safety. The couple will reside in Buffalo, Texas.
