Students enjoy European tour
Visiting a slice of Eastern Europe
      “We wander for distraction, but we travel for fulfillment.” This past month, three lucky upcoming BHS seniors were able to experience such fulfillment. Coltin Bottoms, Sarah Shilling, and Michael Morelock witnessed firsthand a slice of Eastern European culture and history with a ten-day tour of Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary. Adults Terri Morelock and Jill Henson accompanied the trio.

Pageant slim on participants but big on beauty and talent
      This year’s Leon County Baby Pageant and Miss Leon County Scholarship Pageant had only twelve contestants in both pageants and did not have a Miss Leon County competition. The Pageant began at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27 and was over shortly after 6:00. However, those who participated enjoyed every minute of the spotlight and worked their hearts out to show their beauty and talent.

Local SFA graduate
      NACOGDOCHES, Texas—Angelan Rachelle Ringland of Buffalo received a Bachelor of Science Interdisciplinary Studies degree from Stephen F. Austin State University during spring commencement ceremonies. Ringland is a graduate of Lovelady High School.

Dirty Riderz parade through Oakwood
Host Fish Fry
      The Oakwood Dirty Riderz horse riding club invited the surrounding communities to a fish fry and camp-out Friday night. "The Place", located on CR 301 in Oakwood is where the Dirty Riderz have their get togethers. This event included a fish fry, a bounce house for the kids, and domino and card games. D.J. Millard Donnell provided the music entertainment for the evening. The community was invited to stop by for food and fun and to camp-out if they wished. The Dirty Riderz also invited the Richland Chapel Riding Club from Nacogdoches to join in the festivities.
