      The Centerville lodge is having their annual scholarship fundraiser Saturday, July 4th. They will be serving BBQ briskit and sausage plates from 10:30 til @ the lodge. American Legion Post #335 Due to the 4th of July falling on the 1st Saturday, The American Legion Post #335 will hold our monthly meeting on Saturday July 11th at 9am. Note the early time as this will be for the July meeting only and we will hold our August meeting at our usual day & time.

Ramblings from Centerville Healthcare Center
      Can you believe that summer is here, seems like it’s been here for several weeks. The weather has been hot as can be; guess we’re in for a long dry summer. Keep those air conditioners in top shape, try to do all you can during the cool of the morning. If you just have to be out in this heat drink lots of gator aid and water. Now on the news at hand. This has been a fairly unhurried week, we’ve played bingo several times, put together puzzles, had church services a birthday party and Mr. Jones sang for us.

A trip to the Bush Library is the perfect July 4th family outing
      Sometime this week or next, make your kids put down their electronic games and mosey on over to College Station for true American treat. Most of the residents of Leon County are aware of the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum in Col- lege Station, but chances are few have made the tour. The Museum is one of the finest in the country and is located on the A&M campus, slightly more than one hour’s drive from Buffalo. And no matter your political preference just the sight of the flags flying in front of the building makes one’s heart burst with patriotic pride.

Cleburne experiences yet ANOTHER small quake
      On the night of Friday, June 26, Cleburne, Texas was rattled by the sixth earthquake to rattle the city within the month of June. This tremor registered 2.2 on the Richter Scale. Again, there were no damages nor injuries reported, but the shaking was strong enough to wake some residents from their sleep and to re-awaken the growing concern among Cleburne residents.

Bluegrass concert opens July 4th event in Groesbeck
      Groesbeck's big July 4th celebration will be on this Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4th. A free bluegrass concert on Friday night in the Groesbeck City Park will open the celebration. The concert will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The concert's main feature will be Groesbeck's own Karl Shiflett and his Big Country Band. Also performing will be Phillip Jones and his New Generation Band of Maumelle, Arkansas.

     Martin Trejo, formally of Mexico, celebrated becoming a citizen at Mrs. Carter’s residence on May 2, 2009. To achieve this accomplishment it took Mr. Trejo 23 years.
