I was fortunate to grow up in a home where music was appreciated. My mom is a very talented pianist. Here in Buffalo, she plays for Stewart United Methodist Church where it is said she doesn't simply play the notes, but conveys the message in the music. It is a gift of the heart which cannot be trained into the fingers or learned in theory class. She is a blessing. More ... Okay, it is official now…..The Freestone County Fair is going full swing. We all know that, because ‘most everybody in the County seemed to be present for the Fair Parade. It was a hot evening, thank Heavens for that good south breeze. As has become the norm, this year’s parade was a long one. I do believe that it was the safest Fair Parade that we’ve had in several years….. The big secret to this?.... Not throwing candy from the parade vehicles to the kids on the curb…... Simple as that! More ... This week’s cook is a Leon County country girl who grew up in the Redland Community on the Brookdale family farm. Mary Sue Watson has loved gardening, canning and cooking all her life.
