Angel Food Ministries comes to Leon County

Angel Food Ministries, the nationwide food ministry with a servant's heart, now has a local host site at Celebration Church in Buffalo.

Site Director Vanessa Brown will be taking orders from families, individuals, churches and benevolent organizations at the Leon County location. Those interested may call 903 322-5724, Monday thru Thursdays between the hours of 9am and 2pm or contact Vanessa at the Angel Food website www.angelfoodministries. com.

Angel Food Ministries is not a “qualify for” organization and anyone may order affordable food for $30 per box. The retail value of each box, weighing around 21 lbs, is $45 to $75.

A box of food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week, or a single senior citizen for almost a month.

Orders and payments are collected by each individual host site director during the first part of each month and then phoned, faxed, or place through the web-site to Angel Food's main office on “Call in Monday”.

Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non denominational organization dedicated to providing food relief to communities throughout the USA. A monthly menu informs customers of what food items will be available a full month in advance.

Because of Angel Food's involvement with only the best producers and venders, the products are high quality, “name brand” foods - never “seconds” or “day old type” products. Each month's food menu consists of both fresh and frozen items.

There is no limit on the number of boxes an individual or family may purchase. Angel Food Ministries also offers the purchase of one or more “Special Units” when buying a regular box of food. The “Specials” are mostly savings on meat boxes. (Special #1: 4lb. Steak Box or Special #2 8 - 8oz. Rib Eye Steaks for $20.00.)

There are no applications or qualifications, anyone can participate. Angel Food Ministries also participates in the U.S. Food Stamp Program, using the Off-Line Food stamp Voucher system.

This ensures that the needy in any area are getting the maximum value for their grocery dollar, usually resulting in their receiving twice the amount of quality foods for their “food stamp dollar”.

Pastors of Emmanuel Praise Church, a non-denominational church located in Monroe Georgia, Rev. Joseph and Linda Wingo are the founders of Angel Food Ministries. Together with their sons Wes and Andy, the Wingo's are committed to giving others a hand up and not a hand out.
